Documentaries

Documentaries, unlike normal TV shows or movies, are made to document certain aspect of reality, like a person's true story or a historically important event. Documentaries are usually for instruction purposes, education or just act as a historical piece.

Like TV shows or movies, documentaries are also a released in multiple media. Documentaries can be on the internet, can be aired on TV and even stored in certain mediums like DVDs.

You might be wondering, all of these sounded like documentaries are very, very identical to TV shows and films, just documentaries are more "realistic". Well, below is a info-graphic of the difference of documentaries and feature films.

This should make you see how documentaries are more different compared to the others. On a side now, nowadays documentaries tend to become more and more professional, and that increases the budget of the whole documentary. Also, from the info-graphic above, for documentary side's "may have recorded actions", a lot of documentaries have professional actors react the scene of a certain documentary so that the viewers are able to relate to what they see on the screen and what they heard from the narrative.

One of my favorite documentary is Free to Play. It is about the lives of 3 professional Dota 2 players who participated in The International, a competition organised by Valve Corperation, which also owns Dota 2.  The International is also the biggest eSport competition ever held with the biggest price pool in all eSport competition history.

The documentary is free to watch, and is telling the tale of 3 professional players backstory and their process when they are competing in The International. Surprisingly, the documentary didn't emphasize too much on the game, nor The International, but on their life. You don't really need to be a Dota 2 player to understand the whole documentary.

I highly recommend you check out the documentary! Plus, it is also free.
